Researcher comments/remarks
Canterbury Museum commissioned Johannes van Kan to photograph the tributes being placed outside the Al Noor Mosque, Linwood Islamic Centre and Christchurch Botanic Gardens following the 15 March 2019 terrorist attacks. Johannes took photos at the three sites and at the Ashburton Islamic Centre in South Canterbury across several weeks, capturing the growth in numbers of tributes and their eventual clearance by Christchurch City Council staff and volunteers.
